Very old bark quiver and bone / metal tip arrows
I don't like to use the phrase "a museum piece" but in this instance it is fully justified.
This is a fascinating item and quite obviously not a tourist piece. I don't know where this originated but I suspect South American. The quiver is very old and also very delicate. It is made from a single piece of bark tied around with plant fiber. One end has a leather cap and also has a leather strap. the plant fiber is very dry and easily crumbles.
There are six intact arrows, two of which have bone arrowheads and five broken arrows. They are all made from bamboo with a split knock.
The quiver is 58cm in length whilst the arrows are around the same (intact ones).
This is a really nice piece and would need to be handled with care. A lovely and very old genuine item.
