Antique real human cranium with wormian bone.
This cranium came with a collection of bones that belonged to a doctor. It has obviously been part of a medically prepared skull but has become separated from the rest of the skull at some stage in the past. The pins that would have held the cranium to the skull are still in place.
This is an interesting specimen as it has a nice large example of a wormian bone in the suture between the two parietal bones. There also appears to be a small lesion of unknown origin on the frontal bone, similar to an early-stage syphilis lesion.
The cranium is in good condition with no chips, cracks or breaks and has a nice deep colour indicative of the age of this specimen.
