Antique Real Human foot medical specimen
This is a lovely old example of a real human left foot where the bones have been strung together to show the articulation. As cord has been used this would suggest that this is an old specimen dating back to the early 20th century as later examples use nylon line. The cord is all intact except for the piece that would be used to tie the proximal ends of the metatarsal bones which is missing. It would be easy enough to replace if necessary although it does not result in any of the bones coming loose.
This one originally came from the Leeds medical anatomy department and still has the item number.
An interesting specimen with a nice colour.
