Antique real human medical leg bones
These arrived as extra bones with a skeleton. This often happens with item that came from medical schools as the bones frequently got mixed up.
Here we have a femur, fibula and tibia. The fibula and tibia have been wired together to show the articulation whilst the femur remains separate. The bones are generally in pretty good condition although they have had a coat of varnish at some stage to prevent them from crumbling.
The fibula has also been cut and then the two halves have been pinned together with a dowel insert. I don't know why this was done, but it certainly was deliberate.
