Antique human temporal bone sectioned to show middle ear.
This is a really lovely item. It is an antique temporal bone sectioned into three pieces. These are all held together with pins and a brass threaded nut and bolt which shows that this is an early example, probably Victorian. The bone also has a lovely colour and patina which supports this age.
The semi circular canals have been exposed from the bone together with the auditory canals and are easily visible when the pieces are separated.
This is a lovely old medical teaching item.
