Complete articulated real human pelvic girdle medical specimen
This is quite an unusual item. It is a complete pelvic girdle with the sacrum together with both left and right pelvic bones.
The bones have been wired together to show the articulation of the bones. There are holes through the acetabulum where bolts would have articulated the femurs. There are also holes on the top of the sacrum where the rest of the vertebrae would articulate. This appears to have been part of a full articulated skeleton.
The colour and patina of the bones indicate that this is an old specimen as it would take many years of use and handling to gain this.
This is an example that was part of a collection from a medical school.
