Crested Porcupine skull

This is the skull of the North African Crested Porcupine Hystrix cristata. This skull is from a zoo mortality and not a wild specimen.

The skull is in great condition with all teeth present. I have not fixed the incisors into the sockets as the size of the teeth is so impressive within the jaws (as with most rodents). A lovely example and a great specimen.
