Very old medical real human partial skull
This skull has a really nice deep colour and patina which it has gained in over 100 years of use as a medical specimen.
It is a partial skull as it is missing the lower jaw (mandible). The upper jaw has no teeth although as the jaw has healed over these were all lost pre-mortem and would indicate that this was from an old adult.
The brass pins are still in place where the springs to articulate the jaw would have attached and that the hooks to hold the cranium in pace would have connected to.
This is a really nice example of an early medical skull.
