Vintage Adam Rouilly half medical real human skeleton in box
This is a very nice example of a half medical skeleton supplied by the Adam Rouilly company in the second half of the 20th Century.
Within the box is a complete half human skeleton in excellent condition, including the skull, spine, all the ribs, sternum, clavicle, scapula, half pelvis, femur, tibia, fibula, patella, bones of the foot, humerus, radius, ulna, and bones of the hand. Overall the condition of the skeletal parts is excellent. All the bones of the hand and foot are intact and strung together with nylon line.
The skull is also in very good condition, only missing four teeth. The original hooks and springs are still in place to hold the cranium on and articulate the jaw.
The spine is interesting as it appears to be the spine of a young adult which would correspond to the apparent age of the rest of the bones and dentition. There does appear to have been some damage to T12 as it is distorted and compressed. Possibly as a result of this, it has fused to T11 as can be seen in the photographs.
The box is still in reasonable condition for the age and still has what is possibly the original shredded wood fibres in the bottom which would have been a packing material.
