Antique, medically prepared vertebral column / spine and sacrum

This is a very nice item and was part of a collection that came from a medical school. A real human medically prepared and articulated spine complete with the sacrum. Judging by the colour, patina, and the waxed thread, this would appear to be a very early 20^th Century preparation.

The bones are all in pretty good condition for the age although there is little damage to some of the vertebral processes from crumbling as they have dried out with age. Fibrous discs have been inserted to space the vertebrae which not only protects the surfaces but also allows the vertebrae to move and articulate better than without. The original wax thread onto which the vertebrae were strung, is still intact.
