Real human medical prepared demonstration skull perfect condition.

This is a rare item and in great condition. A medically prepared real human skull that has been cut away and has hinged segments that show the sinuses and also the structures within the ear. The must have been prepared in the second half of the 20^th Century as the brass fittings are a later style and the skull still have a very white colour.

The skull is in perfect condition with all teeth present and intact.

The cranium is removable and held on with hooks. The base of the skull has also been divided along the median line so that it opens into two halves. The right temporal bone can be removed and is sectioned to show the semi-circular canals. The left maxillary sinus can be opened with a hinged flap as can the frontal sinus. The left temporal bone can also be removed and splits into two pieces to show the eardrum and the malleus, incus and stapes.

The spring that articulates the right side of the mandible appears to have been cut at some stage, so it doesn’t attach to the pin on the cranium.

An interesting and unusual item in very good condition.
